State of the Republican Opposition

With President Obama reaching out to Republicans to help pass the bailout package, we are seeing the beginning of the bi partisan era in Washington.  As many Republicans are hearing from President Obama more in the short time he has been president then they heard from President Bush in eight years,many Republicans are still trying to stand strong in opposition to the President.  They prefer to take the side of the rich executives that continue to buy the corporate jets and continue to fight against measures to help stabilize the economy. Auto Bailout

With the Auto bailout falling apart, here are a few things I think people should consider when they talk about the issue.
  1. We were willing to give all those billions to Wall street to people who had defrauded the country and donated to a lot of Republicans.
  2. Many of these same Republicans who were for the bailout of Wall street say that we can't bailout the Auto industry because we need to let the market take its course.  Well, I think that in a free market, shouldn't we have let Wall Street collapse?
  3. The auto industry failing will lead to a loss of 3 million jobs.
