They where supported by the president of the New York Young Dems, as well as many of the chapters in Long Island and the New York City region. Other contenders where Binghamton University, the University of Albany, and Stony Brook University.

Dean to step Down as DNC head

The Washington Post is reporting that Howard Dean is not going to run for a second term as chairmen. Dean, always a fan of the netroots and the youths, Dean will sorely be missed as DNC chair. Under chairmen Dean, the Democratic party has been able to expand into all fifty states and have made us competitive in states that have traditionally been red. With this change, the path is now open for President Obama to put a loyalist into the position. We can only hope that his pick is as good to the netroots and youths as Gov. Dean was.

Alternative Energy

A few weeks ago our very own Brian Young, the Communications Director of CDNY, was on BlogTalkRadio discussing Obama's and McCain's energy policies. Brian debated Charlie Smith, the chairman of the College Republican National Committee. The whole episode of BlogTalkRadio is below, and here's a good excerpt from Brian:
“In 10 years, we could already have an affordable [alternative] fuel source…The studies say that, if we drill offshore, it would only reduce our gas prices by 1 to 2 percent.”
