Voter Registration

The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming election is quickly approaching, so it's getting down to the wire to get yourself, your friends, and your family registered to vote. I'm going to make the brash assumption that if you're reading this, you've already registered, but if you want to help your friends out, there are easy tools online to do so. (Cross Posted at The Albany Project) It was a perfect storm of campaign volunteers, committed students, and the happenstance of the major club recruitment far on campus coalescing into approximately 700 voters registered in a 24 hour time frame. It started at 7pm on Tuesday night, when a dozen members of the Stony Brook College Democrats joined together with campaign volunteers for Long Island for Obama, an organization they'd been in touch with since prior to February 5th.

(Crossed posted at The Albany Project) Since the start of September, the College Democrats of New York have been engaged in a statewide effort to register as many students to vote as possible on their college campuses. All 60 of our chapters have been participating in this massive endeavor as we look to register upwards of 10,000 new students to vote. The state executive board for the College Democrats of NY has set a goal of each chapter registering at least 500 students on their campus.
