College Democrats: Get involved in New York City politics this summer!

The campaign season this year is heating up, and Democrats in New York need your help. If you’re registered to vote in New York City, here’s your chance to get involved in competitive races, build up your resume with on-the-ground experience on some of the largest elections in the country this year, and help Democrats get on the ballot in local elections. Two candidates in particular are looking towards College Democrats in order to help collect petitions: Melinda Katz and Tony Avella.

CDNY New Media Director

Are you a college Democrat who knows computers, the web, and wants to get more involved in CDNY? Well, the College Democrats of New York are looking for a new New Media Director!

The New Media Director is responsible for the upkeep and content of the CDNY website (including the Blog), strategies of communication on the web and social media websites, and maintaining internal communications (such as maintaining e-mail address, for one).

As the 2009 College Democrats of New York Convention approaches, everyone at CDNY is gearing up for a great weekend filled with networking, speeches by elected officials, and breakout sessions to train and educate about political techniques.

Reviewing the College Democrats' Constitution

The College Democrats of New York, like other organizations, has a Constitution that outlines the shape and purpose of our organizations. Our mission as a student organization is to help elect Democrats from the grassroots level up, train and engage new generations of democratic student activists, shape the Democratic Party with voices from America's youth, and to become a potent political voice on the issues that impact the student population. But every so often, the rules and procedures we follow in that mission need updating.
