Republicans Begin to Attack Obama
With the RNC going strong, last night the Republicans brought the attack dogs out. From Rudy to Gov. Palin, a lot of volleys were thrown, but they had little substance to them. The facts are these: Mayor Giuliani attacked Obama for being a community activist, yet Rudy never seemed to get his campaign off the ground. He went from the favorite to win to the last place loser in only a few months. In the end, Ron Paul, who is barely a Republican got more votes and delgates then Rudy.
Next came Gov. Palin. She attacked Obama on experience. She said that running Alaska gave her more executive experience. Unfortunatly, Alsaka seems to be really small, because the Obama campign has more workers then the whole state of Alsaka. She continued to hammer home the idea that she is the true feminst, in the mold of great Democrats and great New Yorkers like Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro. A look at some of her policies would make you think you were listening to someone like Jerry Falwell rather then HIllary Clinton. She stands for banning abortion in all cases except to save the mother. This is a position that is so extreme that Cindy McCain, yes the wife of John McCain, felt that it went to far. She also supports abistence only education in schools, a program that has been proven not work. Finally is Ms. Congeniallity really the best women to help lead this country?
In all the hours of speeches last night, how many times was the middle class mentioned? Have the Republicans told us how they will better our economy, or a change that is real? Unfortunatly the anwser is no. The Republicans want to continue the Rovian tatics of divide and conquer. They want ot portray anyone with real ideas to better our country as weak and someone who will fail. They stand to build up those that have no ideas as strong. Democrats across the state they have done this before and they will do it again. Think do we really want 8 more years of John McBush?
With school now starting please join your local College Democrat chapter. Help out with the Campaign in PA. Help out with local races and please dont forget to fight the Republican smear and make sure that we elect Obama!
