There's only a few days left to register, here are the tools to help you do so.
The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming election is quickly approaching, so it's getting down to the wire to get yourself, your friends, and your family registered to vote. I'm going to make the brash assumption that if you're reading this, you've already registered, but if you want to help your friends out, there are easy tools online to do so.
The first is http://www.voteforchange.com/ . It'll only take a few mins, and it's a very easy, simple, direct tool that will help you: register to vote, request to vote absentee, and find your polling location. It's a great resource, and it makes the process as simple as possible.
Google, moreover, has just released its 2008 US Voter Info Map. Just type in your address, and it'll link you to the appropriate Board of Election, as well as tell you how long you have left to register, give you voter hotline numbers, and give you directions to your local polling place on Election Day. It's very useful, especially for first time voters who might not know which polling place to go to.
Rock the Vote is yet another great resource that makes voter registration as easy as possible. It's also got a name that's easy to remember, so it's easy to pass along!
There are only 7 days left to register by mail to vote in the state of New York, so please, share these links on your away messages, Facebooks, MySpaces, blogs, or anything else. As Joe Biden said tonight,
Look, folks, this is the most important election you've ever voted in your entire life. No one can deny that the last eight years, we've been dug into a very deep hole here at home with regard to our economy, and abroad in terms of our credibility. And there's a need for fundamental change in our economic philosophy, as well as our foreign policy. So, it's time to make one last push to get ourselves, friends, and families registered, and to get our voices heard. ~ John Farrelly is the New Media Director of CDNY, and is registered to vote.
