What Questions Do YOU Want to Ask?
The College Democrats of New York 2009 Convention is less than a month away! Each year the CDNY convention brings together College Dem chapters from across the state to participate in a weekend celebration of our state, our organization, and our party.
On the second day of the annual College Democrats of New York State Convention, CDNY will be hosting 2 panels - one with Democratic State Senators from all across New York and one with Democratic Representatives from all across New York.
There are a range of issues that are facing either body of legislatures - Marriage Equality, Education, Transportation, Taxes, the Budget, to name just a few. What we would like to know as we begin to plan these two panels is what questions you guys would like to be asked.
If have any questions that you have been burning to ask our state democratic leaders, please leave a comment with your question. You can log in using Facebook Connect, or just create a new account (registration takes seconds). And, don't forget to then register for Convention to come see if your question gets asked!

The Budget Process
I'd really like to ask the State Senators how they would deal with educational funding in the state budget. Governor Paterson's current proposal essentially taxes students in order to close the budget gap, yet there are better ways (like Fair-Share tax reform) to balance the budget without harming essential educational services. Would these Senators support Fair-Share tax reform, and forgo harming higher education in New York State?
Loaded question, I know, but I think it's an important one nonetheless.
